![]() ![]() I have never played a game where the voice acting brought me into the game world and filled my senses. And the Scoundrel's call to kill something just always brings a smile to my face. It was so nice not to have someone speaking with a (British?) accent for a change. Someone else mentioned that they loathed Covetous Shen by the time they left the sewer where they first located him, but I'm the opposite - I actually hung around in the sewers a bit longer just to hear him natter on a bit. I really enjoyed the Scoundrel and Covetous Shen. I didn't like him a whole lot in Act I, but by the end I was at least curious about his story and how he felt about what he'd learned about himself. I enjoyed some of his sound bites (excitement over a more difficult mob pack) but not enough to like hearing it every time we encountered something. Inflection makes a pretty big difference in character personality and is about the only thing that makes the characters have some life to them. That's not a place to judge the writing OR accents from. You've gone on about how you didn't like their voices so you turned off the sound - at what point? Early on in the game? And then, afterward, if you did speak to them all you got was the text dialogue and absolutely no voice over? Or after the first play through despite apparently deciding early on that you hated them (and possibly skipping through conversations to get them over with)? ![]() ![]() I wanted to punch the guy who played the Wizard VO in the face and after all of 5 minutes with the templar I found him grating and annoying. Now wait just a minute here. The writing is pretty bad and overall the VO is lame. ![]()
